The “American Horror Story” actress declared love for her lover multiple times during the Sunday, September 18 ceremony, including when she was delivering her acceptance speech after winning her first Emmy. “I love you”, she said. “I didn’t know it was going to say my name and the character I played”, Paulson told Variety. “And, I swear to God, if the makeup trailer was at all shaky you’d be like, ‘Oh, mole down!’ It was a constant thing because they had to put it on with tweezers”. “And I am glad that I’m able to stand here in front of everyone today and say, I’m sorry”.

The camera panned to Clark, who sat in the audience looking very emotional. “The thing I kept coming back to was I wanted to cut to the quick of how abandoned I felt she was by women, nearly as a collective”, Paulson said of making Clark a three-dimensional character. I just wanted to feel handsome, y’all.

“The world saw me in sound bites”, Ms Clark said.

But Paulson’s tribute to Clark didn’t stop there.

As Paulson took the stage to accept her Emmy, she was almost brought to tears as she offered an apology to Clark in the audience. “Not for you, but for them”, Paulson said.

She wrapped up with a sweet shout-out to girlfriend Holland Taylor.

Outside the acting categories, D. V. DeVincentis took home the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special for writing the installment’s Episode 6, titled “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia”. All of a sudden remembering her date, she exclaimed, “I left Marcia in the theater like a moron. I couldn’t really bring her up on stage with me”.

At any rate, Paulson’s win was well-deserved and the exchange between her and Taylor has been a joy.

She had pretty much the same reaction we all did to Paulson’s green, sequined gown.
