Sarah Silverman Ridiculizes Bernie-Or-Bust Diehards at DNC
Al Franken Monday night to urge Democratic National Convention delegates to unite – then stirred up Bernie Sanders die-hards with some choice words: “To the Bernie or bust people, you’re being ridiculous”.

Lovato, the 23-year-old singer, was received far more warmly a few hours later.
Sanders has said he will support Clinton’s bid for the White House and asked his backers to follow suit, but many of his loyalists protested Monday by marching and through other actions.
However, it was during her segue-way into voicing support for democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in which the crowd exposed a vocal split between Clinton and Sanders supporters.
In the end, though, Franken offered Clinton a honest endorsement, saying Americans should cast their vote for a person who has “spent her entire life working to get important things done for the American people” instead of “someone who’s never done anything for anyone other than himself”. The comment was met with raucous applause that later turned into competing chants of “Hillary” and “Bernie” (to Silverman’s apparent chagrin).
Earlier the pair had encouraged the crowd to chant “unity”. “And Bernie’s already succeeded in so many ways”. Al Franken – a comedian and comedy writer himself who had introduced Silverman – took up a little airtime (it’s called “vamping” in the business) at the direction of the showrunners. “But the mood shifted as Silverman told the crowd that as part of Sanders” movement, she will be voting for Hillary Clinton in November. Silverman pleaded for “Unity!”
“I got my doctorate in megalomania studies from Trump University”, the lawmaker joked before being joined by Silverman on the stage.
The party may still be torn between Clinton and Sanders, but one thing was clear: Everyone at the Philadelphia convention seems anti-Trump.
