The show will go on in NY, Paris and around the world, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pause to acknowledge how lucky we are to be able to watch a show like SNL, read a magazine like Charlie Hebdo and not have to worry.
In lieu of its traditional opening sketch one day after the Paris attacks, Saturday Night Live opted for a straightforward and touching address to the city.

On the first “SNL” after the attacks on September 11, 2001, NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared with members of the NY Fire Department, other first responders and “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels.
