The Indian Express had earlier reported that Soumya Jain had been put in charge of the clinics on an honorary basis.

The Delhi BJP has now asked the state government to publicly state if Soumya receives any remuneration. She was the one who came up with the design of the clinics. She was also designated as advisor to the health secretary-cum-mission director of the National Health Mission. In fact, she is penning a book on the advent and implementation of mohalla clinics in Delhi.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said, that the nepotism in appointments and corruption in administration has reached its zenith under the Kejriwal government.

Coming to his daughter’s defence, Satyendar Jain said that his daughter gave up a lot of lucrative offers and dedicated herself to the mohalla clinics.

Soumya Jain, 26, who trained as an architect and has no experience in Public Health, was appointed to oversee the network of mohalla or neighbourhood clinics that have won Mr Kejriwal’s government worldwide acclaim for providing efficient and free assistance to walk-ins.

Sources in the Delhi government said dengue clinics will work like the mohalla (area) clinics that are aimed at providing good quality door-step medical facilities to people.

Soumya, a 26-year-old architect, is using a room on Delhi Secretariat’s ninth floor.

The room is named after the new initiative of the health department – AAMC (Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic) management centre.
