Saul Alvarez tells Amir Khan
Amir Khan will pick up the biggest purse of any British boxer for five years when he takes on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Saturday night.

Bolton-born Khan is going toe-to-toe with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Saturday in what will be the first major bout at the T-Mobile Arena, which is part of the MGM group. “I’d probably treat him the same [way that he treated me]”, Khan explained. “You never know what will happen in the future – I’d never say no to getting into MMA”, Khan told the Daily Star. One judge scored Khan a 115-110 victor, the other two a 112-113 loser. Then apparently you think that Amir Khan is a “huge favorite” against Canelo Alvarez. I would do the same thing and I would squeeze my gloves as hard as I could and be like, ‘oh yeah, but when I hit you, yeah you’re going to keep running because you’re going to feel a brick fist behind this glove!’
Should he defeat Khan, World Boxing Council champion Alvarez will have until May 22 to begin negotiations to fight unbeaten, two-belt middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, or WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he’ll strip the belt and give it to Golovkin. Expect Khan to remain elusive in the early rounds and produce some flashy work as Canelo walks him down and settles into the fight.
Renowned for his lightning hand and foot speed, Khan is a 5-1 underdog and will be taking on a bigger man in Alvarez, who is known for his punching power and has lost just once in 48 fights – to undefeated American Floyd Mayweather Jr.in 2013.
Speed often converts to power, but it’s tough to envision the fast-handed Khan hurting Alvarez when stronger punchers couldn’t.
“He got it spot on in the last spar so he’ll be going into fight week very confident”.
He fell in love with the sport when one of his older brothers and fellow fighter Rigo bought him a pair of gloves when he was 10. He messed me around a lot so I wouldn’t take that fight.
“Canelo is a great champion, in his prime, very skilled and I will need to be at my very best to beat him”. People wouldn’t put an asterisk next to Canelo’s win in the record books by pointing out that he had a strength draining catch-weight handicap that helped him win the fight.
“He’s very calm. He’s always calm, but if you make mistakes, he’s going to shout at you”.

“Styles make fights and I really believe a fight with Mayweather would be easier than a fight against Canelo. I know I’m ready for this fight and want to get in the ring right now”.
