Google South Africa today announced the launch of Google Allo to the South African market.

The Allo app comes integrated with the Google Assistant. It can keep conversation going with the help of assistance when required as well as to say more and do more too within the chats. Where Allo may differ from its competition is in the fact that it allows for automated responses based on single taps and analysis of the kinds of responses you normally give, with analysis meaning the replies become smarter over time.
“If your friend sends you a photo of their pet, you might see Smart Reply suggestions like ‘aww cute!'”, Fulay wrote.
Users can also use stickers and scribble on photos before sending them. Unlike other apps including WhatsApp and iMessage, Allo chats aren’t encrypted by default and so can be read by Google – and then used to make the ads across the rest of Google’s pages more relevant.
Google Allo is launching today, September 21, on Android and iOS, and it’ll be available worldwide over the coming days. It is also enabled with a preview version of Google Assistant, the California-based company’s attempt at chat-bot (programs based on artificial intelligence created to be intuitive of a user’s needs) technology. Android users will receive a push message on their devices prompting them to install Allo, ignore the message, or respond via a text message. The Google assistant bot will initially be available in English, with more languages coming soon.
Another interesting feature in Google’s Allo is Smart Reply. Users can also chat in Incognito mode, which would have end-to-end encryption and have additional privacy features like discreet notifications and message expiration.
