‘Scandal’ Season 5 Spoilers – Will Olivia & Fitz Get Married?
It’ll be a white wedding with shades of blood. – Mellie pulls off one of the greatest single-episode comebacks in the ABC juggernaut’s history. Let’s recap, shall we? He wants to take away her unsecured cell phone, but before he can grab it, Olivia takes one more call: “Please hold for Senator Grant”. Mellie is going down in flames, but the president can invoke Executive Privilege. It’s the only way to keep you from having to testify.

In the upcoming sixth episode, Cyrus will be devising a plan that should save Olivia and Fitz from all the troubles they have faced since they were exposed for their affair. And Olivia, instead of marrying the man she says that she loves, decides that getting her mass-murderer father out of jail is a better plan. She’s made a deal with the devil, but she’s got that Oval Office in her sights. Even a candle-lit, rose petal laden marriage proposal on the White House balcony can’t change her mind. Counters Fitz: “You’re not ready, and you never will be”. Olivia asks Mellie to get Papa Pope released. But when Rowan survives an attack by a murderous prison guard, all bets are off. Jake confronts Elise on her secret prison visit, and she fesses up that she’s in the USA on behalf of Lazarus One – to kill Rowan. Unfortunately, she gets killed by Rowan or an associate. Does she want to be Mrs. Fitzgerald Grant? “Get me out of this prison, and I’ll get you out of this mess”, he tells his daughter, citing those B613 files stored in his memory bank. Papa Pope then used blackmail to force the Senate committee to stop proceedings, as promised. Meanwhile, the Gladiators continue to defend Olivia, and Susan Ross turns to David for advice. Blame it on dead Gladiator Harrison. Mellie, of course, who still thinks Eli Pope is Damascus Bainbridge.
Olivia (Kerry Washington), left, Cyrus (Jeff Perry) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) coonsider a shocking plan that might just make all of their troubles go away, on this week’s “Scandal”. Mellie fears that this humiliation will make her lose her senate seat.
– Fitz and Mellie sign the final divorce papers in the middle of the episode after making a few additional agreements. Could she give these “Fitz ruined my life” speeches to the masses?
Fitz wonders aloud if she’ll ever be ready to commit to him (so do I).
Those are the main questions during tonight’s episode of “Scandal”. Just hours from Olivia’s testimony, Olivia (wearing white, what else?) shows up for the quickie wedding, but gets a last-minute call from Mellie. Mellie’s had a realization! Digging hooch out of the First Lady’s closet, plotting her world domination takeover with a sadistic glint in her eye, in an effort to make her life finally mean something: I say, bring it on.

While at first Olivia was extremely resistant to the idea, the reality is that Cyrus makes a good case. I would still have my dignity, if it wasn’t for you.
