Canadians have nabbed a total of five Grammys so far. He won best rap album for To Pimp a Butterfly, best rap performance and best rap song for “Alright” and best rap/sung collaboration for “These Walls” featuring Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat.

He shared the best dance recording honour with Skrillex and Diplo for the collaboration “Where Are U Now”.

Toronto musicians may not have picked up any prizes during the televised Grammy Awards show last night, but The Weeknd did snag two awards yesterday – his first two ever. The tapes were sent to Toronto for restoration and released a year ago.

“This is a gift that everybody buys for their father”, Moore said. It was the first time his music made it onto the list this high.
