Schaumburg Boomers offer former National Football League star Tebow a baseball contract

It appears former Florida Gator star and Heisman Trophy victor Tim Tebow may have given up the dream of getting back into the National Football League, but hasn’t given up on being a professional athlete. “As far as the skill aspect, I think hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do”.

Tebow will be conducting a public workout at the end of the month, and all 30 major league baseball teams will be invited to attend.

Tebow is not likely to sign the contract, at least not right away, as he has a scheduled tryout for Major League Baseball scouts at the end of this month, and all 30 teams have confirmed they are sending scouts to check Tebow out.

He will hold a workout for Major League Baseball teams this month, his agents told ESPN and other news outlets.

Agent Brodie Van Wagenen, the co-head of CAA Baseball, said in a statement that the workout is not a publicity stunt.

“Tim’s athletic ability, his work ethic, his leadership and his competitiveness were evident in football and will show in baseball”, agent Jimmy Sexton told Scheftter.

Tebow last played competitive baseball more than a decade ago, hitting.494 as a junior for Nease High School in Florida.

“He would be a great addition to the team, and we look forward to hearing from his agent in the near future”, Blue Crabs general manager Courtney Knichel said on the team’s website. But the former major league catcher Chad Moeller, who said in the statement that he had been training Tebow in Arizona, said he was “beyond impressed with Tim’s athleticism and swing”.

Some took to Twitter to voice their approval.

So what does the Jets’ wideout think about Tim Tebow -his former teammate in Denver- and the quarterback’s decision to make a run at the Major League Baseball?

“I spent time with Tim Tebow in the cages”, Sheffield wrote, “he’s a NATURAL”. He went to training camp with the New England Patriots in 2013 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 but was cut before the season each time.
