New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has said he is probing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s Foundation over its allegedly questionable donations.

Trump University was “really a fraud from beginning to end” and “just a scam”, Schneiderman told ABC’s “Good Morning America” in June.

Schneiderman supports Hillary Clinton and has pulled no punches when talking about Trump. “This fact pattern indicates that these payments may have influenced Mrs Bondi’s official decision not to participate in litigation against Mr Trump”, the letter read. Trump did, however, pay a $2,500 fine for violating IRS rules regarding political contributions by charitable organizations.

The US Justice Department has been asked by Democrats in the House of Representatives to investigate the $25,000 donation to Pam Bondi.

He did not elaborate on what wrongdoing Mr Trump’s nonprofit might have committed.

Schneiderman’s announcement comes on the heels of two separate stories about the Trump Foundation’s shady dealings.

Neither company was still offering seminars by the time Bondi took office in 2011, though dissatisfied former customers were still seeking promised refunds. “Some are already pronouncing Hillary a political corpse, prematurely, in my view, and arguing over whether she would be replaced”. You can’t say I gave the money to a charity and not give the money to a charity and report it on the forms you file with my office.

He claimed the Trump campaign said, “We don’t want to tell anybody where it went”.

“We have been looking into the Trump Foundation to make sure it’s complying with the laws governing charities in New York”, Schneiderman said.

‘My interest in this issue really is in my capacity as regulator of nonprofits in NY state, ‘ Schneiderman said.

“When they call, I give”, Donald Trump proudly said at a GOP primary debate. “I didn’t make a big deal out of it or hold a press conference”, he continued.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung dismissed Schneiderman’s assertions as entirely motivated by presidential politics, calling the attorney general a “partisan hack who has turned a blind eye to the Clinton Foundation for years”.

The Washington Post this weekend reported that Trump hasn’t personally contributed to his foundation in years, and that many of its charity contributions to other groups were funded by other charity foundations.

Trump and Schneiderman have a history.

Farenthold reported the Donald J. Trump Foundation, created in 1987, started accepting donations from outside parties as early as 2001.

“I regulate the nonprofits in NY state”.

Trump’s campaign and its surrogates have come out against Schneiderman, a staunch liberal and frequent Trump critic, saying the investigation is a transparent political ploy created to damage the candidate before the November 8 general elections.
