School bus, FedEx truck go head to head on NJ road
The video, captured Wednesday afternoon on Airport Road by Stephen O’Connor and posted to Facebook, shows the bus weave around the FedEx truck, going across the median and trying to pass the truck near a traffic light.

The drivers of a school bus and FedEx truck were caught on video speeding and cutting each other off in an apparent case of road rage.
The New Jersey school bus driver seen in dramatic video swerving into the wrong lane to get ahead of a slower-moving FedEx tractor-trailer and then almost getting rammed by the larger vehicle has been fired.
The video shared by Stephen O’Connor on Wednesday shows the truck move into oncoming traffic to apparently block the school bus from passing.
It is unclear from the video whether or not there were students on the bus.
O’Connor told New Jersey 101.5 the incident happened at 12:30 on Wednesday.
He wrote: ‘So here we have school bus driver upset at FedEx driver for doing 20mph along Airport Road here in Lakewood today’.
O’Connor, who was on his way home to Lyndhurst after working at Lakewood Industrial Park, said the FedEx driver then slowed down to the point where O’Connor was driving about 18 miles per hour. The company operates school buses for many school districts in New Jersey.
Lt. Greg Staffordsmith with Lakewood police told the station: ‘We need to speak to both drivers.
O’Connor said the rate of speed during the incident ranged between 18 and 25 miles per hour. “It’s not safe, it’s wrong and you can’t be driving kids like that”, Krawiec said of the incident.
An employee at Jay’s Bus Service told Patch that the driver of the bus had been relieved of his duties. “I know that Jay’s as a company takes safety very, very seriously”. “Of course safety of the children is our number one concern”.
A FedEx spokesperson would only say they’re looking into the matter.
