The tragic accident claimed the life of the female whose was driving the bus when the vehicle crashed into a concrete ramp support pillar after veering off of a roadway.
The medical examiner’s office says 43-year-old Kari Chopper was killed in the Sunday crash that also injured 18 students and coaches. “The Denver Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the accident and will provide updates as available”. Three coaches sustained significant injuries and are still hospitalized. Two other buses picked up Legacy students, too, and continued on to the high school.

Legacy’s football teams played Chino Hills (Calif.) High School last week, the school’s athletics website noted.
DIA released a tweet informing the public that “all passenger pickups were taking place on Terminal West because of the crash on the east terminal”.
“The bus driver circled back around to this level”.
It was a somber start to homecoming week at Legacy High School in Broomfield, north of Denver.
Officials say there were students aboard the bus at the time of the crash.
One mother said her son, who is a coach, was supposed to be on that bus, but opted to ride back to the school with friends.

When she first heard about the crash, she said, “I couldn’t”.
