It was announced last month that Schweinsteiger would step down from global football and the 32-year-old enjoyed an emotional farewell on Wednesday as Germany defeated Finland 2-0 in his final match. He has everything that I would wish for from a leading player.
The Germany legend joined Manchester United last summer from Bayern Munich, and after a decent start struggled to get on the pitch after the turn of the year due to injuries.
Although the MLS transfer window does not open again until after Christmas it seems unlikely United will attempt to find Schweinsteiger a club before the transfer window closes today.
