Schweinsteiger not giving up on Man United
And on Wednesday, the 32-year-old German released a statement saying that United “will be my last club in Europe”.

Schweinsteiger moved to Manchester United last season after spending 16 years with Bayern Munich. But I think it is very hard for him.
“It is very hard to happen”.
United have since made the world record £89 million signing of fellow midfielder Paul Pogba.
“I can not answer for him”, he said. It’s his life, his career, he has a contract with Man United. But football is made of decisions. I can not say Marcus doesn’t play in the Premier League.
“Some players react in a different way and have different kinds of decisions”.
“Bastian is not speaking a lot. He gave his last statement, which he is completely free to make, in an objective way, like he did”. He also said that the historic English club “was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich”.
Diplomatically, Schweinsteiger also noted that he would be ready to serve Jose Mourinho should the team need him, despite being told that he is not part of the Portuguese manager’s plans for this season.
“Not surrounded by helicopters waiting for someone to arrive or leave – I am more than happy with the squad I have”. Mourinho though made it clear that at the moment, there is no role for the World Cup winning midfielder.
During the 2015/16 campaign, his colleagues reportedly urged him to focus more on returning to full fitness than on supporting his celebrity wife Ana Ivanovic at major tennis tournaments – advice he was said to have ignored.
Even though United have indicated that their summer transfer business is concluded, Mourinho feels his squad would benefit from a more experienced centre back such as Southampton’s Jose Fonte or a specialist right back like Fabinho at Monaco. “One or two players are going to think long and hard in future about whether they want to go to such a club”, Rummenigge said.

Schweinsteiger has declared that he will not join another European club, and is prepared to sit out the rest of his deal if necessary.
