Schweinsteiger will not leave Manchester United for Bundesliga return – Rummenigge

United are in the market for Paul Pogba and, if reports are to be believed, will land the Juventus schemer before the transfer window closes.

News broke out earlier this week that Jose Mourinho had made a decision to cut loose around nine players from the United squad to ensure his new signings have the chance to shine – including the possible soon-to-be-announced signing of Paul Pogba.

But speculation is rife about the announcement and when it will be confirmed. “But he has this little thing that we want to be careful with given that he is young”. We can’t explain why but you’ll just have to trust us on this one until it is done.

Adnan Januzaj has struggled to make an impact at Manchester United since his breakthrough in the 2013/14 season and was loaned to Borussia Dortmund last term. The squad is very competitive, the squad is very important for the season. I wouldn’t keep them in my squad. We are going to play 60 matches and you can not do that with 11 players.

“They are playing really well, their training has been top and I think that we have signed really good players”.

Schweinsteiger, who turns 32 on Monday, still has two years to run on his 190,000-euro-a-week deal and United will be hoping another club can come in for him.

The 31-year-old arrived was signed by former manager Louis Van Gaal from Bayern Munich last summer.

With competition from Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, and the likely arrival of Paul Pogba, Mourinho has decided Schweinsteiger is not part of his plans for next season.

According to the same article, “Mourinho is keen to work closely with the Scot”, though exactly what that entails we’re not quite sure.
