‘Science Guy,’ take two: Netflix announces Bill Nye talk show
Bill Nye is someone that millennials hold near and dear in their hearts.

A new Bill Nye science talk show is coming to Netflix in spring 2017, Mashable has confirmed.
“We’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience”, Nye said. “This of course was my goal, to change the world and so on, but to see it actually happen is a bit spooky”, he said.
Writer and comedian Mike Drucker (Saturday Night Live, The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) is the show’s lead comedy writer, while author and astronomer Phil Plait is the lead science writer.
Bill Nye offered up his thoughts on the new series and hopes to use the show to further his mission of getting us excited about science (because some of us are still sour we barely passed high school chemistry).
Netflix has tapped Bill Nye to “save the world”, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Some of the initial topics the show will tackle include climate change, vaccinations and modified foods.
For nerds of a certain age (sorry, but I’m about to talk about myself), Nye’s influence is hard to overstate.
Bill Nye is an environmental advocate, television host, and licensed mechanical engineer with over two decades of successful public advocacy.
Michael Naidus, formerly of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, is showrunner and executive producer.
Bill Nye Saves the World marks Nye’s return to series TV. Bill Nye the Science Guy was an excellent start to making science fun and applicable to our modern lives, but it seems Nye has an eye on a bigger demographic than ages 6-12.

This is not Netflix’s first time airing a talk show, nor is it the first television personality from the 90’s to get a show on the streaming service. Members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on almost any Internet-connected screen.
