“We will be able to see which players are suitable for the national team on short-term and long-term basis”, he said.

“The secretariat after signing up around 25 overseas players will also finalise a list of around 75 Pakistani players including the centrally contracted players for the auction process of players for the PSL”, he said. That’s going to kill cricket in Pakistan.

Mahmood, who played his last match for Pakistan in 2007, warned against hosting it outside Pakistan and insisted it should be held in the country even if the top players refused to come due to security concerns. The PCB chief also said that during his stay in the United Kingdom he had held some very productive talks with the officials of associate cricket boards.

PCB will not compromise on the fitness and discipline of the players and action will be taken against players and regional officials if they failed to select fully fit players, said Khan.

Training camp for young fast bowlers came to end with good news.

Sponsor s LG Electronics representative Philip Kim was also present on the occasion.

(MENAFN – Khaleej Times)Amid speculation over the resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan on Monday admitted that the planned series between the two nations in UAE in December is in “real danger” and said that he plans to travel to India next month to discuss the issue.

India last played Pakistan in a bilateral series in 2006.

It has been reported that PCB had first approached the Emirates Cricket Board for permission to use their three stadiums for the league, but things didn’t work out as European Central Bank had already given the nod to the newly launched Masters Champions League (MCL) for the February slot.
