Scott, Garcia tied for the lead — Honda Classic

American golfer Jason Bohn shot a 72 to make the cut (143) but withdrew from the event after experiencing chest pains soon after he putted out on the 18th hole.

An on-site ambulance transported Bohn to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for testing, where it was revealed that he had suffered a mild heart attack, according to a spokesman for the Honda Classic. He was in stable condition and was staying in the hospital overnight until more tests Saturday.

Fellow PGA Tour professional George McNeill has since visited Bohn in hospital and said he was “in good spirits”.

Bohn’s card of 72 in the second round would have seen him made the cut.

(AP) – Rickie Fowler didn’t need a course record at PGA National.

World number five Rickie Fowler fired another bogey-free 66 on Friday to take a one-shot lead after two rounds of the US PGA Tour’s Honda Classic.

Adam Scott also played bogey-free in wind that was slightly calmer and in warmer weather.

“So it was a good, solid day, a nice step in the right direction and I am really looking forward to the weekend”.

“I’m definitely pleased about it”, Fowler told Golf Channel after ending his round by sinking a 22-footer to birdie the par-four ninth.

More likely, however, the two of them will limp home the way other Honda contenders have in the past, hoping all the while that no one comes charging out of the pack to steal the prize. “I’d love to have one more day like that”. “I’m obviously a little further back than I wanted to be”.

“They were playing tough”, Garcia said of the back nine holes. It was a great shot into 17 and I’ve got to take those positives into tomorrow. “Making two there was already a good thing, but a one would have been incredible”.

“Just one of those ones where it’s the wrong time to make an error”, Scott said. “Shame about 15 but that’s this golf course – the Bear Trap got me today”.

The native of Lewisburg, Pensylvannia claimed a career high six top-ten finishes over the 2014-15 season although his last tournament victory came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2010.

Fowler’s second straight four-under effort on the Champion course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, gave him an eight-under total of 132. His second-round 69 was not quite enough to fix the damage of an opening 77. On Thursday, he chipped in from deep rough for par from behind the 10th green.

The Clara man bogeyed the 10th and 11th and then three putted the 14th for a double bogey. He stretched his lead to three shots.

Garcia, the first-round leader, shot a three-under 67 on Saturday.

Frenchman Wattel is a former Scottish Stroke-Play champion, having claimed that title at Gailes Links in 2010. “Still swung it all right, made a couple bad swings, but just couldn’t get the right reads and struggled on the greens”.

The 26-year-old followed her 70 on Friday with a third-round 71 at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast to jump 24 spots into joint-12th.
