Scott Weiland’s bandmate arrested for drug possession
In one of Scott Weiland’s final interviews, recorded backstage at a Toronto concert just two days before he passed away at the age of 48, the former Stone Temple Pilots singer talked about his family, the death of Walkabouts guitarist Jeremy Brown and his own musical legacy.

However, it has now emerged Weiland’s bassist Tommy Black was taken into custody for fifth degree felony possession of drugs after a police search of the bus uncovered a small quantity of cocaine in his living quarters, while another minor stash was discovered in the bedroom where the tragic singer’s body was found.
Weiland’s current band, Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts, had been scheduled to play a show in nearby Medina, Minnesota, on Thursday night, but it had been canceled a week earlier due to poor ticket sales. “We know amidst the good and the bad you struggled, time and time again”, wrote STP on their Facebook page.
Another tragedy has occurred in the shadow of Scott Weiland’s death.
“You were gifted beyond words, Scott – part of that gift was part of your curse”.
The statement said Mr. Weiland, who was dogged by substance-abuse problems throughout his career, died in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minn. His former Stone Temple Pilots bandmates released a statement on Friday, following the news of his death, according to ABC News. “We will miss you brother”. No underlying cause has yet been released, so it’s not known whether or not the cocaine found in the vicinity of Scott Weiland contributed to his death. The investigation into Weiland’s death is on-going, reports the Star Tribune.
Born in 1967, California native Weiland formed his first band at the age of 16.
