It was an epic sequence paying homage to the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Psycho” as Dean Munsch realized that there were three people working in collaboration with the mayhem on campus.

‘Scream Queens’ gets better and better every week! Why can’t we have more scenes like this in actual horror movies? She shows them a likeness of Gigi. Wait, why the hell did she not unmask her suitors?
Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) hires random Scottish detectives to find evidence to prove that Grace and Zayday are the murderers. The Chanel clan is full of complete idiots.
Citing the synopsis posted over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled “Mommie Dearest,” it is said that Grace will decide to temporarily put aside her issues with Chanel as she reaches out to ask for her help on something. Hmm, so the mastermind is a woman? She tells them she needs more money for her investigation. Suddenly though, she finds herself fighting off a total of three killer – two Red Devils and a smaller person dressed as a judge. Dean Munsch then told Grace that the name of the mystery girl who had a tragic history in the school, “This is the name of the girl who died in the tub”. Chanel learned that Chanel #5 may have attempted to murder her, which left her slightly stunned when she learned her pal’s real name. Chanel’s investigators revealed that Grace’s mother had a criminal past.
When Grace makes her way to the Kappa house (after learning the alarming news that her father Wes [Oliver Hudson] and Gigi [Nasim Pedrad] are engaged) she’s bombarded by the sorority’s menacing leader. Could Wes be a killer, it’s indeed possible? Chanel admits that she has a very strained relationship with her overbearing mother, while Grace is adamant that she is not the killer. She reveals that not only was Grace’s mom president of Kappa house, but she was also known for playing “Waterfalls” a little too often…which can only mean one thing: Grace’s mom is none other than Bethany Stevens (Anna Grace Barlow), the bad girl from the 1995 flashback who let the Kappa pledge bleed out and die.
The episode ends with Chanel and Grace meeting up and making amends.
In other developments, Denise will take on the mantle of being the new house mother of the Kappa House.
Chanel knows that Grace is convinced she’s the bathtub baby, even though all the pieces of the puzzle don’t quite fit. I must say Denise got major kudos from me for that scene. Grace is anxious about her dad, and scared for herself. Gigi fires all this ammunition at Grace; karma hitting Grace for thinking she was right. Chanel spilled a bit of gossip about her family tree with Grace as a way to bond the KKT sisterhood. Murphy added that Boone will be having an entirely different look from how he was seen in Episode 1 and that he will disguise himself as a man named Joaquin Phoenix. They say if a girl doesn’t have a healthy attachment to their mother, they never feel safe in the world. Whoever he or she is, is the mastermind behind all the chaos that is taking place.

Next, Grace vents to Pete (Diego Boneta) about being convinced that her mom is the dead Kappa pledge. Its indeed one of those culprits!
