Scream Queens Tonight: “Beware of Young Girls”
Haven’t we all wanted to speak ill of the dead but were censored by our moral compass? Until next Tuesday “Scream Queens” fanatics! So over the top and delicious. Chanel is convinced it’s #2 just effing with her and sets out to prove that Chad is as loyal as a little lapdog. Gigi is pissed that “he” is still alive.

Chanel tells the other Chanels that she knows they’re planning on killing her. She asks how they were planning to do it and Chanel #3 says they were thinking of using rat poison. The Chanels aren’t the only ones with a fissure in their little group. Gigi also mentions that she wants “him” dead, immediately.
This week we were introduced to Feather (Tavi Gevinson), a former KKT sister who fell for Dean Munsch’s husband, thus causing them to get a divorce. Yes, Gigi intentionally points Pete and Grace in the direction of Dean Munsch, but what does that do? Munsch determines that Feather runs the website ilovebologna.org, which sadly isn’t a real website. She wants to see them tomorrow. Gigi is controlling Red Devil and planned for Grace to catch, then release, Dean Munsch. Curious, since this was how the old dean died.
A bad idea, it turns out, because when Feather returns home, she finds a “ketchup” arrow on the foyer floor, pointing upstairs.
Detective Chisolm pays a visit to the dean.
“She’s friggin’ nuts!” Feather tells the two, adding that she would go on record to say that the dean was involved. He breaks the news of Stephen’s death and announces that the police have decided she’s the most likely suspect. With the threat of Red Devil and the constant murder around, everybody is on edge. At first, she doesn’t take it seriously, but the cops put a straight jacket on her and take her away. Munsch says that if Grace and Pete dig up dirt on Feather and bring it back to her, she’ll tell them about what happened to the baby.
Grace and Pete Martinez talk to Feather McCarthy about Cathy Munsch. Watching the episode, I found myself asking when it would kick it up a notch like it usually does; this week, it never did.
Pete gets Chisolm’s files from the crime scene. Whoever killed Stephen Munsch made a sandwich afterwards and left half of it behind. This means the killer is still out there. They kiss. Grace gets a call from Munsch. They head to the crime scene to get Feather’s toothbrush.
Chanel goes to confront Chad and finds him in bed with a goat.
The goat, Rammy, is for nutritional purposes.
Back at the Quija board Chanel No. 2 correctly figures out how many tampons Chanel No. 6 has (the answer is 9), and that Chanel No. 3 choked on Kix, the cereal. On the second go-round, Chanel #2 tells the group that Chanel is the killer. The only solution? Kill Chanel. The Chanel clique chose to contact Chanel #2 from the grave once again. After confirming that Hell is not as cool as everyone thinks it would be (no dinosaurs).
When Chanel #5 says they were only considering it because they thought she was the killer, Chanel says that she’ll overlook it. She gives them gifts: Nancy Drew style hats and enormous magnifying glasses. But they can’t exactly agree on the best way to off their fearsome leader.
Plus, it’s really not a fun or amusing episode. Scream Queens is an ambitious show. I hope viewers stick with it because there is a few real genius in the satire of it all.
Only, Grace and Pete reached a false conclusion. Munsch insists that Feather absolutely killed Mr. Munsch and says that she can’t trust her when she saw her in the bathtub. The only problem is tying Feather to all of the other murders on campus. This indicates that the decision to kill Chanel is out of character and shocking for them-it throws their inner world off tilt. The lack of a dutch tilt during her monologue about killing Chanel set me off. She doesn’t believe Feather is smart enough.

It’s time for a new episode of Scream Queens season one. As a horror-comedy, these are where the comedy bits are supposed to shine through, but Nasim Pedrad’s “reveal” on the phone is nowhere near as amusing as the show thinks it is (especially when she eventually does the “touched” bit, as she can all of a sudden no longer keep a cover). Dean Munsch is a free killer. Correction: deranged serial killers.
