The first season of the CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow had its ups and downs, but as far as I’m concerned, it really hit its stride after the first five episodes and began getting really good, telling fun, colorful, comic book stories with an engaging team of characters. Both John Barrowman (who plays Malcolm Merlyn on The CW’s Arrow) and Wentworth Miller (who plays Leonard Snart / Captain Cold on Legends of Tomorrow, and had a supposed death in the season finale) signed exclusive contracts that made them series regulars on all shows across The CW’s DC television universe. However, nobody ever thought they would join this team of supervillains, with the additions of Darhk and Thawne.

“For Season 2 of “Legends”, we decided that the flawless antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV’s first-ever team of Super-Villains”, showrunner Marc Guggenheim said. “Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we’ve come to call this group our ‘Legion of Doom'”. The latter show was devised as a superhero team-up that also used elements of time travel, but the announcement that Legends is going to make a television Legion of Doom and reveal some Justice Society of America characters is still damn exciting.

Firstly, “The Flash” unveiled a first look at it’s upcoming third season – which fixes around the “Flashpoint” storyline.

Legends of Tomorrow will return for season two on The CW on October 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET. It’s been confirmed that the Legion of Doom will factor into the show’s second season, but don’t expect to see a traditional lineup comprised of the likes of Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Scarecrow, Solomon Grundy and others.
