SE Cupp reacts to Donald Trump’s latest clash with the press
In other words, four months after his big fundraiser, where Trump touted a tally that turned out to be untrue, Trump only started cutting checks to a variety of groups after the Washington Post published a story that made the candidate look bad.

A Donald Trump press conference on Tuesday was supposed to be about the GOP presidential candidate raising money for veterans, but it turned into an attack on media and Rush Limbaugh loved every minute of it. “Zero dollars have been taken out for administration”.
Using what is now his trademark epithet for Clinton, Trump kept up the assault on Thursday on Twitter, saying “Crooked Hillary Clinton has zero natural talent – she should not be president”.
Finally, what kind of billionaire promises to give money to veterans and doesn’t?
Trump has a longstanding relationship with the group, which Boulhosa said typically raises a total of between $2 million and $3 million a year.
Yesterday, the presumptive Republican nominee held a press conference to set the record straight, though as the Washington Post reported, it didn’t go well. Moreover, it should concern voters that in negotiations with far more at stake than a building, he would likely let his emotions get the best of him and reveal his weak points. “There were some individuals who he’d spoken to, who were going to write large checks, [who] for whatever reason…didn’t do it”, said Lewandowski in a telephone interview with the Washington Post. “I can’t tell you who”.
Trump is expected to address some 5,000 supporters, but one prominent politician is not planning to attend: Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones, the Republican candidate for Congress. However, it’s hard to forget that it took almost five months to get to this point. Discrepancies arose over how much Trump had raised and how much money had actually been doled out to the different veterans groups. Readers may remember Trump originally released a list of 22 veteran groups that would be receiving the donations.
But I’ve seen Trump rip the press many times, including in interviews with me, and there is no doubt in my mind he was angry.
He suggested he had hoped to keep the donations private. He said, “The money’s all been sent”. These are reasonable questions that many in the press and public were asking. He added, The press should be ashamed of themselves.
Thank you for the Trump University documents that were unsealed Tuesday by that judge who happens to not be from Mexico, because in those documents we learned that representatives of your institute of higher learning were encouraged to urge customers to pay for courses with credit cards or by tapping into retirement accounts.
“The press they always want to make you look as bad as possible”, Trump said.
