Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman is being released from jail pending an ongoing investigation into the incident that led to his arrest Wednesday on suspicion of vehicular assault and hit and run.

The King County Prosecutor said the investigation could take a month, including the wait for toxicology results. In a video (below) that the attorney conducted with Coleman at the police station after the accident, Coleman asserts he is not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The first court appearance, which was scheduled for Friday, was canceled.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Coleman embodies his “no excuses” approach to NFL coaching by not letting his hearing impairment keep him from playing in the league.
Mylett said Coleman did not say why he left the scene of the accident.
Officers found Coleman two blocks from the crash within four minutes based on the descriptions from witnesses.
“The Seattle Seahawks have suspended Derrick Coleman indefinitely pending further information”, the team said in a statement. Coleman reported no injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. After Coleman was helped from his vehicle, witnesses said, he left. The lawyer said Coleman “was clearly not in his right mind after the accident, and that would probably be due to a concussion”, admitting the concussion notion was speculation.
