Seahawks Kam Chancellor ends holdout, will return to team

The last thing Pete Carroll is going to do after starting the season with two losses is overreact.

Just let that sink in.

The Seattle Seahawks probably won’t be caving on Kam Chancellor‘s holdout any time soon. They look more like the Legion of Gloom right now, amiright?…I’m sorry, I’ll stop.

Chancellor and the Seahawks have no discrepancy over the safety’s 2015 salary. Despite that, Chancellor’s holdout has already cost him over $2.1 million in earnings.

As of early this week, Chancellor’s fines for the holdout surpassed $US2 million. Which is huge when the biggest problem stemming from too much winning is people wanting more money.

Kam Chancellor is back with the Seahawks.

Personally, I blame Chancellor.

“At this moment, he’s not battling with us, so I can’t really tell you what (his absence means)”, Thomas told me in a private conversation at his locker.

Cliff Avril had similar words regarding Chancellor. He is under contract for the next two years following this season, and fans just want him back on the field immediately.

“My situation is different than his”, said the Seahawks’ defensive lineman.

Seattle’s defense plays on another level at home and gets to face the flawless opponent here, one that is struggling immensely and wounded.

Michael Bennett is also unhappy with his contract, but he ultimately decided to report to training camp with the rest of his teammates.

According to Adam Schefter, per a text conversation between Chancellor and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, the decision to return is more about helping his brothers in arms rather than cowing to Seattle. I can address business after the season.

The Seahawks are two games out of first place (0-2) in the NFC West behind undefeated Arizona. The question now is whether or not the Seahawks front office will waive his fines.
