Ricardo Lockette is ready to take on the long road to recovery.

The Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson has came to the defense of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and how he reacted following an injury on Sunday to Ricardo Lockette, per Tiki and Tierney on CBS Sports Radio.

Lockette underwent surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Lockette announced the good news on Instagram, saying “the road to recovery has started”.

Marshawn Lynch and Russell Okung stayed with their teammate during surgery, while the rest of the NFC West squad traveled back home.

Lockette required surgery to stabilize ligament damage in his neck.

“Once I saw that he was down like that, I felt awful”, Heath said. NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino said in the NFL’s weekly officiating video, however, that league discipline considers other factors beyond strictly whether a penalty was committed, and Heath’s hit wasn’t considered dirty. “That wasn’t my intention at all”.

Lockette has been a special teams standout for the Seahawks since joining the team in 2011. He’s also been part of Seattle’s rotation of receivers. Hardy deflected a pass in the air with his right hand, caught it and returned it nine yards before Wilson forced him down at the Seattle 16.
