Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch reportedly helps McDonald’s employee with $500 gift

Running back Marshawn Lynch #24 of the Seattle Seahawks watches from the bench during the game against the Seattle Seahawks at Edward Jones Dome on September 13, 2015 in St Louis, Missouri. The employee, 17-year-old Terrance Downs, started talking to Lynch as he was mopping the restaurant’s floors.

Terrance remarked that he liked Lynch’s shoes and was hoping to get a pair for himself.

Marshawn Lynch’s generosity is spreading… because the kid who got $500 from Beast Mode just got free $2,000 shoes from a company that also wants to help him become successful. “My job is to continue to see you grow”. Lynch asked Downs about his interests, and Downs replied that he’s into fashion and someday hopes to own a boutique.

Downs did buy the shoes he coveted, and said his motivation to succeed is even stronger after meeting Lynch in part so “I can do the same thing for someone else one day”. Buscemi shoes are listed online in excess of $500, with the most affordable pair of navy blue shoes costing $650 on several retailers’ websites.

McDonald’s confirmed the story, saying that Lynch “left a huge positive impact” on Downs.
