General manager John Schneider, who helped build the Seahawks Super Bowl championship team, has reportedly agreed to a contract extension with Seattle.
According to John Clayton, John Schneider will be among the NFL’s highest-paid general managers.
Per the report, the contract is “expected to approach” the $3.75 million earned by Baltimore’s Ozzie Newsome, which is believed to be the maximum salary for any NFL General Manager.
Owner Paul Allen confirmed earlier reports with this tweet.
It is also worth mentioning that Clayton made a point to note that the Seahawks’ next move could be an extension for head coach Pete Carroll, whose contract will expire at the end of the upcoming season. Schneider was previously reported to be seeking $4 million per year. Nonetheless, with Schneider and presumably Carroll set in place for the foreseeable future, the Seahawks will continue to contend year in and year out.

Schneider and Carroll have shown a knack for finding players in the draft, giving Seattle one of the league’s most talented and deepest rosters. But sources say Schneider’s extension is likely to lead to one for Carroll as well.
