Seahawks put RB Rawls on injured reserve

Rawls suffered a broken ankle with ligament damage on a carry late in the first quarter of Sunday’s 35-6 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

“He just exemplifies what we’re all about-toughness, hard-nosed, committed, grit and all that stuff”.

They ran it 36 times – tied for the third-most rushing attempts they have had in a game this season. He was tackled by lineman Chris Canty at 5:36 but managed to limp off the field on his own. “I don’t know how he does it”, Carroll said.

Harris and Jackson combined for just 57 yards on 25 carries in place of Rawls in Baltimore.

The Seahawks will be re-signing the Wichita, Kansas native running back right after rookie Thomas Rawls got injured, CBS Sports reported.

“We’re really fired up to get him up”, Carroll said. In fact, he’s been pretty good.

The team re-signed Bryce Brown to the roster on Monday to provide some additional depth at the position.

With Thomas Rawls lost for the season, the Seattle Seahawks have some run game issues that could hurt their recent momentum.

“We’ll see how Marshawn does”, Carrol said. But to lose him right before the Seahawks go to Minnesota and play what looked to be the toughest road game left on their schedule? “We’re happy to get him back”. During a game in October 2014 at St. Louis he openly, visibly scoffed while still in formation before a play because he wasn’t getting the ball.

There were multiple problems with the Seahawks offense during the team’s poor start, including Wilson not playing his best football. Receiver Tyler Lockett also had 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including a 49-yard grab.

The Seahawks need to get by in the meantime until Lynch is able to return.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh couldn’t have been looking forward to his Monday press conference, a day after being on the wrong end of a rout at home against the Seattle Seahawks. And now all eyes are once again on Lynch, who seemed to be marginalized by the emergence of undrafted rookie star Rawls. Benwikere is the team’s nickel back, but has been pressed into starting duty with Charles Tillman out the past four games with a knee injury. By rough estimation, he had at least three seconds to throw on four of his five touchdown passes and barely had to move on all five of them.

“He deserves it as a person, as a player, as a guy who has sat in this offense and played his role, ” Sherman said. Fortunately for the two-time defending NFC champions, there’s a Pro Bowl-caliber running back just waiting for a phone call. The other was against the 4-9 Baltimore Ravens.

-RUSH DEFENSE: A. Seattle’s run defense is outstanding right now. Javorius Allen had his worst outing since taking over for the injured Justin Forsett, gaining 14 yards on eight carries.

Carroll also said there’s a good chance that Lynch, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, could return this season – and that the chance will obviously increase if Seattle has playoffs games to play past the final three regular-season ones, the last one being January 3 at Arizona.
