Seahawks QB Russell Wilson dealing with ankle injury

Pete Carroll has referred to Seattle Seahawks running backs Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael as a one-two punch.

With the Seahawks trailing and only a few minutes left in the game, Wilson hobbled onto the field with a chance to win the game.

“We talked about it”, Maxwell said.

I want to believe the Dolphins can make a big step in year one under Gase, but I can’t with confidence say they will because of the many concerns they have entering the season. Michael had a team-high 66 yards on 15 carries. The Seahawks averaged 3.5 yards per carry. The Dolphins traveled 2,723 miles, the NFL’s longest road trip in games played on American soil.

Baldwin had a nice day with seven catches and 83 yards to go with the game-winning touchdown. Add to that the forced fumble and interception the team caused Wilson to commit and the unit had a great night of work overall.

While Seattle’s defense returns all of its elite talent, there is a different feel about the offense this year.

But the offense was surprisingly stagnant.

Miami’s defense would not be outdone, however.

The Dolphins finally took the lead late in the fourth quarter on a Ryan Tannehill quarterback draw. Watch Miami Dolphins vs Seattle Seahawks live stream NFL PPV NFL Game 2014 now!

Certainly, Wilson’s injury was a factor, with Carroll calling his willingness and ability to keep playing “really courageous”. Wilson turned his right ankle while trying to avoid Suh and limped through two plays before seeking assistance from team trainers when the Dolphins took possession of the ball. This was a game in Seattle, which was going to be tough no matter what. The Portland native will likely be a disruptive force against a Seahawks’ offensive line full of question marks. But leaving 33 seconds on the clock proved to be too much time for his defense to hang on.

The lack of a running game had Seattle throwing it more than ever.

The Dolphins had a great scoring opportunity later in the first quarter after Foster’s 52-yard catch-and-run, but he later was stuffed for no gain on fourth-and-inches from the 17-yard line. And after a slow start, in true Seahawks form, that’s what happened. Neither did penalties – Seattle had three holding penalties in the second quarter alone.

Miami had just 145 yards total offense until the winning drive.

After the Dolphins defensive line manhandled Wilson and his offensive line for three and a half quarters, including a number of bookend hits from Williams and Cameron Wake, it was so Dolphin-esque that Williams would be unable to come out for the ultimate drive.

Several teams, including the Chiefs and Seahawks, saw their players link arms during the anthem.

Seahawks backup Trevone Boykin warmed up on the sideline, but Wilson got the ankle heavily taped and re-entered the game for the next drive without missing a snap, even though his mobility was clearly lacking.
