Seahawks stifle Carson Wentz, Eagles into fifth straight road loss
They can win their second consecutive game when they host the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday on CBS, 1:25 p.m. PT/4:25 p.m. ET. And Russell Wilson’s limited mobility has been tough to compensate for. He has just 60 yards rushing so far this season, compared to 553 last season and 849 the year before. He has completed 65 percent of his passes while displaying poise beyond his years.

When the Seahawks took C.J. Prosise, they felt they had the next great running back in the NFL.
After he was selected No. 2 overall in the first round by the Eagles last June, Wentz wasn’t expected to be the starter to open the season.
Rawls delivered his best shot of adrenaline in the third quarter. The defensive line has also been excellent, despite the absence of DE Michael Bennett, who’s out with a knee injury.
The Seahawks fans lived up to their reputation as arguably the noisiest crowd in the NFL. Cliff Avril has 9.0 and second-year player Frank Clark has 7.5. The Eagles shut down Matt Ryan and the high-powered Falcons last Sunday. They controlled the ball for 38 minutes, 10 seconds compared to 21:50 for Atlanta. The running game – which faltered after last week’s terrific performance – only produced 113-yard combined. Wilson found Baldwin for completions of 44 and 34 yards and also hit Jimmy Graham on a 35-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Wilson had a 44-yard pass down the right slot to Baldwin, He had a 30-yard connection across the field to Tyler Lockett.
Seattle travels to Tampa Bay next week for a matchup with the Buccaneers, beginning its slate of three straight games against teams hanging by a thread to their playoff lives. The 11-point margin could have been much larger if Seattle was better in the red zone.
The Eagles have to make it as tough for the Seahawks to score as they know the Seahawks are going to make it for them. Wendell Smallwood added 70 yards on 13 carries, and Darren Sproles chipped in 19 yards on a pair of attempts. His last touchdown came in the Eagles’ 21-10 win over Minnesota on October 23. That statistic doesn’t figure to change against Seattle.
Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor continued to struggle Sunday. Targeted three times, he didn’t have a catch. He had only five touchdown passes through Seattle’s first seven games. I don’t see Carson Wentz and these receivers doing much against this defense. They took defensive tackle Fletcher Cox in the first round. “Press the line, make his one cut and then get downhill”.
So if Viatai misses time, the Eagles will be pressed to find more depth along the offensive line. Wilson continues to get healthier. The Eagles need to keep the pressure on him. That falls squarely on Jeff Fisher, who, rookie QB or not, went into a shell late and played not to lose. And yes, Jones helped considerably with a couple of most uncharacteristic drops.
Baldwin finished with a team-high 104 yards on four receptions.
“The guy’s a talented player”, tight end Zach Ertz said.
Seattle didn’t just win, they beat the Eagles.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Eagles after opening as a 4.5-point favorite.
False Starts: Maybe the Seahawks should have practiced inside to prepare for the noise the way the Eagles did.

But after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a career-threatening leg injury during the preseason in Minnesota, the Vikings made Philadelphia a trade offer for Bradford it could not refuse the week before the start of the regular season.
