Seahawks take home opener against Miami with last-minute Wilson TD pass
Seattle held the lead for most of low-scoring affair – right up until the end of the fourth quarter, when quarterback Ryan Tannehill rushed up the middle for a touchdown to put Miami ahead. The Pro Bowl quarterback suffered an ankle injury in the game that he is now dealing with.

After the game, Wilson downplayed the severity of the injury. Wilson limped through the possession before getting examined on the sideline and having his foot and ankle taped. Boykin had his helmet on and was taking snaps with starting center Justin Britt in front of the bench before Wilson popped off the training table to re-enter the game to begin the Seahawks’ next offensive series. Normally he runs all over the field and is very active with all of his motions. However, he was clearly limited in his mobility.
Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin answers questions at a postgame press conference following Seattle’s 12-10 victory over Miami.
Wilson finished Week 1 with 258 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
EAGLES 29, BROWNS 10: Carson Wentz had 278 yards passing and two touchdowns in a stellar National Football League debut as the Eagles beat Robert Griffin III and the Browns.
After that game he was asked if he was feeling vast pain and whether it would keep him out in the future.
Head coach Pete Carroll expects Wilson to play next week against the rams as his x-rays and MRI came back negative. It’s going to be hard for him to practice and stuff like that.
“He doesn’t care what it feels like”, Carroll said. We have to take into account that it’s going to be hard. Should Miami lose on Sunday, it would already be two games back of the Patriots – who figure to only get better when they get suspended quarterback Tom Brady and injured tight end Rob Gronkowski, among others, back.
Christine Michael, who had a resurgence in his second stint with the Seahawks late last season continued it Sunday with 15 carries for 66 yards. “However, when the plays count, we know how to finish”.
Then Jimmy Graham picked a decent time for his first catch since his torn patellar tendon in his knee November 29, down to the Miami 16.
Earlier this week, I wrote about the lack of an interior pass rush on Seattle’s defense now that Jordan Hill is all but done for 2016.
