Sean Dyche: ‘We believe we can compete in Premier League’

Switching from pedestrian to brilliant to absolutely terrible back to pedestrian during a roller-coaster 90-minutes in their season opener away to Arsenal last weekend, Liverpool look very much like a side that could visit Burnley FC tomorrow and either flatten them completely or come up short at the hands of the newly promoted side.

But under Klopp there seems to be unbridled optimism in Liverpool.

As ever, they are entirely dependent on their best players turning up. “He is training normally”, Klopp said. The free-kick was genius, but the other goals – it was like 36, 40 passes in a row. “We never lost direction”.

“Any new players you get in is always a benefit”.

Klopp now enjoys time to make a “real analysis” instead of just focusing on how to “improve our physical ability” in the small amount of time between games last season.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says that he and his players are confident of adapting to top-flight football on their return to the Premier League. “That’s how it is in football”, said Klopp.

Danny Ings has been told he may have to bide his time for a first-team chance at Liverpool this season. One of Can, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana will be one on the bench. “If the right player comes along who we’ve been targeting we might have to”.

Adding World Cup appearances for his nation to his resume, Ward said: “We’ve got a new record signing and we’re excited to see what he brings to the squad and to the team as well”.

The treble of Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool is likely to prove popular with punters who are building a multiple for Saturday’s Premier League action. “I want to use Daniel Sturridge’s skills and not try to transform him into a marathon runner”. Can I trust that you are really there?

“We had these situations last season when we played well and talked about consistency, but can you really expect consistency in the situation we were in, playing these number of games?” Even with the massive television deal that came into effect this season, manager Sean Dyche revealed it is hard for them to compete in the transfer market.

There’s no doubting that the creative star of this Liverpool team is Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

It is not an ideal start but one Klopp has fully prepared for. Ask Luis Suarez if he ever scored a free-kick like Phil’s.

And, obviously, that we’re going to score goals of our own.

Mr Walker’s mother Alison said the Clarets were such an important part of him and Liverpool was the ideal game for a tribute.

“He’s just not a good defender and he’s proven to be as bad this season as he was last season”.

“I realize you can get criticism positive and negative, there are thousands of fans and everyone likes to have their opinion”.
