“Fox News Channel has mutually agreed to suspend its contributor agreement with Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich effective immediately”, said a statement from Jay Wallace, the executive vice president of news at Fox News, via the Huffington Post.
This week Fox News suspended Gingrich’s contributor agreement, citing a potential conflict of interest if Gingrich was selected as Trump’s running mate.

The two campaigned together in OH less than one week ago, and Trump seemed to picture Gingrich in the VP role. If Gingrich doesn’t exactly walk the walk, he does love America so much he can’t keep his trousers up.
This is not the first time Gingrich has been suspended by Fox: back in 2011, when he was nearing the launch of his own presidential bid in 2012, the network suspended him and fellow 2012 hopeful Rick Santorum.
Less than an hour after the announcement, Gingrich appeared on Fox as an interview subject.
Trump has said he’s looking for an experienced politician to be his running mate, and with 20 years in Congress under his belt, Gingrich fits that description.

Trump was expected to meet with another possible running mate, Pence, during a stop Tuesday in IN that includes a fundraiser and a rally. Jeff Sessions and retired Gen. Michael Flynn. Not only does the move fuel speculation of a Donald Trump, Newt Gingrich ticket being an actual reality, it opens up a host of questions about how that ticket would do against Hillary Clinton in the general election.
