Former House speaker Newt Gingrich flew to in to meet with Donald Trump Wednesday just a day after suspending his on-air relationship with Fox News – by hopping a ride on a jet owned by Fox host Sean Hannity.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says that Donald Trump’s impending vice presidential decision ultimately comes down to whether he wants a fellow “pirate” or a “relatively stable, more normal person”.

Trump, a political outsider before entering the presidential race previous year, has a tough choice to make.

“I do not believe anybody including Trump can tell you what a Trump presidency would be like”.
Gingrich was also a critical negotiator in the 1996 welfare reform package, working with Democrats – and Bill Clinton himself – on finding a middle ground for a popular piece of legislation. Could this break possibly be due to a temporary vacation otherwise known as a presidential campaign? “That I can tell you”, Trump said. Well, at least he’ll still have a position if Trump gives him the shaft in favor of Mike Pence or Chris Christie.
During this time, Trump has also consulted with both Roger Ailes, the chairman and CEO of Fox News, and Rupert Murdoch, the 21st Century Fox executive co-chairman.
The timing of the announcement makes little sense – Gingrich has repeatedly been mentioned on Fox News and elsewhere as a potential Trump running mate for months.
Sessions, a United States senator from Alabama, is one of the harshest immigration critics in Congress, a position that has made him a close ally to Trump.
And Gingrich, like Trump, does absolutely nothing for the Republican Party in a time where it desperately needs to get younger and far, far more diverse. An entire generation of new voters know Gingrich as an insightful commentator, not as a politician. The former Georgia congressman praised Trump for running a “very fair, open process” and said he looked forward to learning the businessman’s decision.
Looking forward to a fresh round of profiles describing Callista Gingrich, Newt’s 3rd wife and former mistress, as a “devout Catholic”.

It also seems as though both parties agreed the change was necessary, describing it as “mutually” agreed upon.
