Sean Penn to talk to newsman Charlie Rose about El Chapo chat
The shop proceeded to advertise the product on its Facebook page as “Barabas “El Chapo” Shirts”, encouraging shoppers to “like” Barabas on Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win one of these coveted products.

Infamous Mexican cartel boss Joaquín Guzmán – better known as El Chapo – is in the news after a widely publicized interview with Sean Penn in Rolling Stone magazine led to his capture (again).
The drug kingpin was sending some sultry text messages to Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who helped actor Sean Penn snag an exclusive interview with him.
Barabas representative Sandra Mancia told Agence France-Presse that Guzman’s star power is rubbing off with increased sales.
It’s about time El Chapo change his nickname to Ulterior Motive.
However, on numerous occasions the Mexican government has made statements to the press about issues of security that have turned out to be false – including statements about the disappeared Ayotzinapa students.
Guzman faces drug trafficking charges in several U.S. jurisdictions, but the principle benefit according to Longmire, would be intelligence “either about members of his own cartel or members of rival cartels – operations – how the drugs are moved across the border, et cetera”.
“They got their man, so what do they need us for?” he said.
Transcripts of Blackberry Messenger texts between Guzman, his associates and del Castillo were published by Milenio, and they add more unusual details to an already odd tale.
After six months on the lam, Guzman is back in the same prison he escaped from on July 11.
Shortly after the recorded interview, Mexican authorities said they nearly caught Guzman, although he escaped, but not without injuries to his face and leg.
Guzman was arrested on Friday in a deadly military raid in the seaside city of Los Mochis, in his northwestern home state of Sinaloa.
Penn, who met Guzman along with Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, wrote that Guzman proudly volunteered information on his illegal activities. As he flew to Mexico for the meeting, he wrote, “I see no spying eyes, but I assume they are there”.
In an article published Saturday (January 9) on RollingStone.com, actor Sean Penn revealed that he met Guzman in person in October.
The government officials said investigators had monitored Penn and Del Castillo, taking photographs of the actors when they landed in Mexico, before their get-together with Guzman.
Penn has acknowledged he tagged along for the October 2 meeting at a mountain hide-out set up by Del Castillo to discuss plans for a movie about Guzman’s life.
If, however, Penn had arranged profit or gain for Guzman, then it would be a crime.

Copies of TV episodes of “La Reina de Sur”, del Castillo’s most famous role, portraying a fictional trafficker, were found in the safehouse Guzman was hiding in prior to his capture. Gomez noted that the USA government sought Guzman’s extradition as early as June 16, before he escaped from Altiplano last summer.
