Search Continues For Attempted Kidnapper In Glendale
Glendale police have arrested a female suspect in the attempted kidnapping of two children earlier this week. Her bail was set at $300,000.

The caller was an 8-year-old child who reported to the 911 operator that someone tried to steal his 2-year-old brother.
Police Sgt. Robert William tells City News Service in both cases a person grabbed a child but was thwarted by each mother and fled in a vehicle.
According to authorities, the first kidnap attempt happened around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Chevy Chase Drive and Adams Street.
Glendale police declined to release a booking photo of the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation. The two struggled, and the mother was successfully able to get her child away from the woman without any injuries to the child. The mother said the woman said, “Aren’t you cute?”, then grabbed her child, KTLA reports.
The eight-year-old and the mother gave different accounts of the suspect’s gender, but police believe both attempted kidnappings were carried out by the same person.
The boys’ mother, who was standing nearby, interrupted the kidnapping and hit the attacker’s hand, prompting the individual to put the toddler down and flee, according to Sgt. Robert William with the Glendale Police Department. That incident was captured in surveillance footage.
In the first incident, the suspect was described as a Hispanic woman with short, dark hair wearing winter clothing.
The second just a mile away a man tried to take a 2-year-old boy at John Marshall elementary school. After a second, the mother appears to push the person’s hands away, and the individual leaves.

The Glendale Police Department is actively investigating these two incidents and detectives believe the suspect or suspects are related to both incidents.
