Search resumes for missing Backroad Anthem singer at Oklahoma lake
After almost one week, the search was called off once again Thursday for missing country singer Craig Strickland of Springdale whose friend was found dead after the two went duck hunting Saturday evening during major storms on rain-swollen Kaw Lake in northern Oklahoma. Morland’s body has been recovered.

The singer’s dog was found alive with the body of his friend.
“This cuts the amount of search area by 50%”, she tweeted.
Earlier Thursday, Helen Strickland posted an Instagram photo of a bible she said her husband had highlighted. “That’s a piece of hope that we’re actually clinging on to”. She spent the next 45 minutes searching scripture that Craig has highlighted. You left everything to be there with me and I couldn’t have made it to this point without you.
Craig’s band has also been posting supportive messages on social media.
“We understand people want to volunteer in the search”, said Lieutenant Kera Philippi, OHP Public Affairs. “He is on fire for God, his Wife, his family, his life, and this band”. Thank you Craig Michael for sharing with us the wisdom that the Lord shared with you. His passion for music and the stage are what many times have kept us going miles and miles down the road.
