Season over for Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw

For the third straight season the Colts have placed running back Ahmed Bradshaw on season ending injured reserve.

Bradshaw hurt his wrist during the team’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday.

The Colts signed Bradshaw on October 14.

They re-signed running back Zurlon Tipton.

Without a doubt, the loss of Bradshaw is a significant one for the Colts’ offense. He’s a great blocker in pass protection and a unsafe receiver, particularly in the red zone and in short yardage situations. He played in six games this season, with 31 carries for 85 yards and 10 receptions for 64 yards and three touchdowns.

“Very, very productive before he got injured a year ago”. His 3-yard run gave the Colts a second-and-goal at the Bucs 3, but it proved to be his final carry of the season.

While the team struggled finding a reliable backup option behind Gore earlier in the season, Bradshaw’s return provided a solidifying veteran presence behind him-giving the Colts a formidable 1-2 punch in their backfield. Last year, a broken leg curtailed his season.

The Indianapolis Colts brought running back Daniel “Boom” Herron back to the team just in time.

The 6-0, 230-pound Tipton spent time on the Colts’ active roster and practice squad this season before being waived on November 26.
