Witnesses reported seeing dozens of police cars flooding the area as sirens wailed in a chaotic scene.

According to the report, the carjacker brandished a gun, threatening employees in a nearby restaurant, before going on to confiscate two other vehicles, and unsuccessfully trying to steal a third at a local gas station.

The gunman, who was reportedly armed with two handguns, then drove to a vehicle rental business where he threatened to shoot two employees if they did not let him take a Chevy Camaro.

The intense video shows multiple angles.

It was when he commandeered the Camaro that police started pursuing him, and during the intense chase through Seattle, the police say the suspect fired at law enforcement officers.

Police have also recovered several shell casings, believed to be from rounds fired by the suspect during the pursuit and working to confirm the connection through forensics.

The pursuit, which began in a coffee shop in the 90 block of Pike Street, ended in the Wedgwood neighborhood. The SUV’s female driver was able to flee to safety as police took up positions behind their patrol cars.

The 35-year-old suspect from Lakewood, Pierce County, had last served prison time between October 2013 and October 2014.

Dash-cam video released by the Seattle Police Department begins with the Camaro being followed by police in northeast Seattle around 1:44 pm. The suspect opened fire again at officers at Northeast 68th Street and 35th Avenue NE in Wedgewood, and was fatally wounded when officers returned fire.

According to SPD Blotter, detectives from the department’s Force Investigation Team and Investigations Bureau are reviewing the incident and have compiled a preliminary timeline of the man’s crime spree.
