Medics took the suspect to the hospital, where officers plan to interview him to learn more about his state of mind and what he was doing.

An officer used a Taser, but it failed to stop the suspect, according to police. When police arrived a short distance away at 2nd Avenue and Spring Street, they found a man brandishing a gun, officers said.

In the first, the department says it received reports about a 25-year-old man carrying a gun downtown just before 3 a.m. Tuesday. The auto owner gave officers a detailed description of the man, Seattle police spokesman Patrick Michaud said.

Officers reportedly told the man to drop the gun. They in that case dismissed never known before large number of photographs, bumping the person in your hand.

On a video released by police, officers can be heard on patrol-car video yelling “Put it down” at the man and the man responding “hell, no”. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

The suspect fled east and ran to NE 100th Street and Roosevelt Way NE, where officers were involved in a confrontation with the man. One of the officers fired multiple rounds, striking the suspect. The audio soon cuts out because the suspect led officers out of the camera range.

On July 17, Samuel Smith was fatally shot in Ravenna after he charged an officer with a knife.

SPD has placed two officers on paid administrative leave per standard department policy. Per policy, members of the Officer of Professional Accountability were on hand to observe the investigations.

Detectives from the department’s Force Investigations Team (FIT) and Crime Scene Investigators are processing evidence and reviewing statements from both incidents, said police.
