Seattle re-signs Christine Michael to bolster run game

“That’s all I want to do”, Michael said Wednesday. The return of Lynch from abdominal surgery remains in question, although head coach Pete Carroll indicated he could be back before the end of the season.

Running back Christine Michael has another shot to make a difference in an National Football League backfield.

Michael was taken in the second round by the Seahawks in 2013 but played sparingly and was traded to Dallas for a seventh-round pick shortly before the season began.

They’ve lost guys like Robert Turbin and Christine Michael due to being released and such, and then guys like Thomas Rawls bust their ankle and can’t play. “We always saw him as an explosive player, so we’ll see how that works out”.

Michael’s return is a surprise after the trade seemed to cut all the ties with Seattle.

When asked how Michael could get on the field for Seattle in his second go-around, Carroll said the team was explicit with their expectations of the third-year pro. “He’s here today with us, he was available so we got a chance to get him back”. “With Bryce Brown coming back, too, we had a couple weeks with him as well, so he has some background in what we’re doing, so we’ll see how that comes together”. Brown was on the Seattle roster earlier this season but never active.

Fred Jackson will probably be the change-of-pace back behind Brown. Harris had 18 carries for 42 yards after Rawls was injured at Baltimore, but he also had a red zone fumble and averaged just 2.3 yards per carry with a long of six yards.
