Seattle Seahawks 2015 NFL preseason opener: Game time, TV channel, how to
It’s more than just the first CenturyLink Field action of the season – it’s the first action of the season.

Preseason games, though, are instead all about evaluating the roster rather than scrutinizing the scoreboard.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said conversations are ongoing with holdout SS Kam Chancellor, but his status remains the same.
In case Chancellor does decide to hold out of games, he’ll have to worry about second-year USC product Dion Bailey, who would slot in as the starting strong safety and is a cerebral player with good ball skills who has shown that he is capable of reading plays near the line of scrimmage. “I think they are prepared to play well and I am expecting that”.
The 27-year-old hasn’t directly addressed exactly what his problem is with the four-year, $28 million extension he signed in 2013, but according to a Thursday report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Chancellor expected to be rewarded with a new contract from Seattle after developing into one of the league’s most feared defenders. THE COMEBACK: One of the best stories of the preseason for Seattle is the recovery of defensive tackle Jesse Williams after having a cancerous kidney removed less than three months ago.
“Jesse’s going. We are going to play Jesse”, Carroll said.
(On linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis) “He’s got a shoulder strain and that might keep him out of this game”.
The game could be most notable for what it is lacking – a founding member of the Legion of Boom. Free agent addition Cary Williams is the only projected starter who is going to be in uniform.
Earl Thomas is still recovering.

All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman has “a little bit of irritation” in the hip-flexor area. But running back Christine Michael should see significant playing time. Marcus Burley could start opposite Williams in the base and will get work at nickelback, and rookie Tye Smith and recently acquired Mohammed Seisay will get lots of snaps.
