It’s unclear what Moore did exactly to earn a spot in purgatory, but was cited by some scouts as having maturity issues during his college days. The Raiders had just 27 yards on 25 carries.

Another point of emphasis for Seattle is continuing to flesh out the backup running back situation.

Maybe it was just an inconsequential exhibition game against a bad team, but it sure looked like fans could see a number of players who will be important factors in this team’s success over the next couple seasons.

After scoring on an impressive punt return earlier this season and another long touchdown run, Lockett once again impressed in the final preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. He had one touchdown and 104 yards passing.

It seems as if Jackson has something left in the tank, as he burned off a 41-yard rush and scored a touchdown in his first preseason game of the summer last week.

Moore never worked with the starters even in the training camp practices that were open to the media and it was becoming increasingly clear Del Rio and the Raiders didn’t view him as an integral part of the team. But as has always been the case for McGloin, it took the entire preseason to make that glaringly obvious to everyone, including his coaches. The Raiders can finally start zeroing in on the September 13 opener against the Cincinnati Bengals and put an up-and-down preseason to rest. In that battle, McGloin led Raiders passing.

That Hayden played the entire first half was noteworthy though.

Keith McGill, the No. 3 cornerback, demonstrated that on the first drive. Then 4:56 into the third quarter Rod Streater beat Marcus Burley on a 28-yard TD to get the Raiders within three.

Rookie Anthony Morris saw time at left tackle and struggled as well, allowing a sack of Ponder when Seattle’s Eric Pinkins blew past him easily.

Clark, the team’s second-round choice, blew past Oakland’s Matt McCants and into quarterback Matt McGloin to force a fumble in the end zone that Jordan Hill recovered for a touchdown with 11:21 to go in the second quarter.

The ground game remains still in flux after the release of Trent Richardson this week, and the Raiders could use an extra rusher behind Murray and Roy Helu.

He might be the best all-around athlete on the team, someone who could be the ultimate wild card for an offense, capable of throwing passes or catching them when he’s in the game while also serving as a backup kick returner.
