The Second Amendment protects the right of Americans to bear arms.
Retired four-star general Barry McCaffrey also spoke out against Trump, declaring him unfit for the Oval Office and saying it was “remarkable how little he knows” about national security. Some in the audience in North Carolina who were seated behind Trump could be seen wincing when he made the comment.
“He was talking about Hillary Clinton and gun control, essentially, which is something that has been talked about a lot on the campaign trail”, she said. “A person seeking to be President of the United States should not suggest violence in any way”.
“I gave a massive tax decrease yesterday”, Trump said, referring to economic plans he unveiled Monday.
Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller said in an emailed statement to POLITICO: “It’s called the power of unification – 2nd Amendment people have incredible spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power”.
That second bit fell more in line with critics’ interpretation of Trump’s comments: that he was talking about violence under a Clinton presidency.
Introducing Trump later at another rally in North Carolina, in Fayetteville, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani accused the news media of taking the remark out of context to help Clinton get elected.
“This isn’t play. Unstable people with powerful guns and an unhinged hatred for Hillary are listening to you”. She has a double-digit lead in Pennsylvania and the narrowest of edges in OH, but Florida, with the largest cache of Electoral College votes is a tie.
Norman Ornstein, of the American Enterprise Institute, tweeted: “It will be easy for the Secret Service to investigate the reckless maniac who said this- his own detail can do it!”
This Swing State Poll shows a mixed result for the presidential candidates, although certainly with an overall edge for Secretary Hillary Clinton. “And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump”, said Trump’s campaign Senior Communication Advisor Jason Miller.
Trump later told Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” program that “nobody in that room” thought he meant anything other than to rally support against Clinton.
But then Trump drew attention away from his message with his “Second Amendment” remarks. She wants to leave you unprotected in your home. “This is a tremendous political movement”.
Several of Trump’s supporters came out in his defense. “You are responsible for what people hear”.
The judges have to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Trump has planted himself firmly on the side of gun owners with a “law and order” campaign.
“We must take people at their word”.
“When the bad guys burst into your house, they’re not looking about Second Amendments and ‘do I have the right to do this?'”
British Columbians aren’t fans of Donald Trump.
Trump’s vice presidential running mate, Mike Pence, asked if he believed Trump was inciting violence toward Clinton, told NBC’s Philadelphia affiliate: “Of course not. No”.
Liberal grass roots organization MoveOn.org called on every Republican up and down the ballot to repudiate Trump over his remark.

However, Senator Chris Murphy in a series of tweets alleged that Trump had given an assassination threat to Clinton.
