Second ‘Fantastic Beasts’ film already has a release date!
We asked the Theory of Everything Oscar victor which Harry Potter book and film were his favorites in the saga that serve as the foundation for his spin-off prequel film. Thousands of extra tickets for the much anticipated new Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play will be released on Thursday morning (August 4).
Within 24 hours of being released in 2007, “The Deathly Hallows” sold 2.65 million copies in Britain, publisher Bloomsbury said, while Scholastic recorded 8.3 million copies sold in the US.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the latest instalment in the popular franchise. Rowling was the one who also penned the screenplay for the first film and Yates also directed the initial installment, E!
The movie, yet to be titled, is part of a three-movie deal based on Rowling’s book “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, a prequel to her best-selling “Harry Potter” books.
“Deathly Hallows” sold 1.8 million copies and 780,000 units of the adult edition in the U.K.in its launch week, it added.
Depending on who you ask, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is either the beloved, highly anticipated eighth HP book, or mere fan fiction that’s nothing to shake a wand at.
With an estimated £580 million fortune, she made £14.2 million in the past year that saw the opening of her two-part West End debut, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.
Waterstones buying director Kate Skipper said in a statement that no hardcover had sold so quickly in the United Kingdom since Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” in 2009.
At its current rate, it is on track to become the second biggest single-week sales for a book since records began. The script will be written by J.K Rowling with David Yates again directing the film.

Last week, Barnes & Noble said the script book was the USA retail bookseller’s most pre-ordered book since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
