Second walkout against police crimes planned for Chicago
A handful of protesters swarmed Van Dyke as he exited the Leighton Criminal Court Building, repeatedly chanting, “16 times and a cover-up” for the number of shots that struck and killed 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. He faces six counts of first-degree murder and one of official misconduct in the 2014 shooting.

A small group of protesters shouted insults at Van Dyke as he left the court house.
Van Dyke’s lawyer has said the veteran officer feared for his life when he shot McDonald on a Southwest Side street in October 2014.
Emanuel is slated to meet Thursday with the Department of Justice, which is investigating the shooting.
Cook County Circuit Judge James Brown set Van Dyke’s arraignment for December 29.
The attorney for Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke, accused of murder in the shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald, said Friday he may ask for a change of venue.
And the outcries against Van Dyke continued Friday.
Emanuel, a Democrat with strong White House ties who was elected to a second term this year, and State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez have been the target of protests because of the year-long delay in bringing charges against the officer in the video, Jason Van Dyke, who faces trial for murder.
He said “Exhibit A” would be Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s repeated comments on the case and Van Dyke.
Defense attorney Dan Herbert says the noon hearing will be an opportunity for prosecutors to read the indictment.
Van Dyke entered the courthouse around 11:30 a.m., dressed in a dark suit and tie instead of the hoodie he wore during his last court appearance.
Emanuel previously told reporters, “Van Dyke violated both the standards of professionalism that come with being a police officer but also basic moral standards that bind our community together”.
Hours before the video was released, prosecutors charged Van Dyke with first-degree murder.
When Van Dyke, who is out on bond stepped out of the courtroom, a woman said in a booming voice, “He’s a f– murderer”.
A second protest is planned to be held outside the courthouse where Van Dyke is scheduled to make his appearance Friday.

Since the video’s release, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy resigned from his position and the Justice Department has launched a federal investigation into the incident.
