Second Witcher 3 expansion, Blood and Wine, pushed back to mid 2016

The physical edition of the “Hearts of Stone” DLC for “The Witcher 3” was delayed today due to problems with GameStop.

Along with Hearts of Stone, the Expansion Pass contains Blood and Wine – a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint and will take Gerald to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret. In addition, downloading the new expansion will require additional memory depending on the platform, according to a tweet by Marcin Momot, CD Projekt Red community manager. Those desperate for the two Gwent decks can still buy the cards separately through a specific website, whilst purchasing the new expansion digitally. “However, it has come to our attention that, due to logistical problems, customers will be unable to obtain the physical edition of the game for several days after launch”.

The forum post goes on to apologise for the inconvenience, and that the developer is working with GameStop to resolve the situation.

Wild Hunt’s first major expansion, Hearts of Stone, releases tomorrow in its digital form. Blood and Wine, meanwhile, will conclude Wild Hunt’s story DLC in the first half of 2016. The download size of Hearts of Stone on PC is 2.3GB (GOG and Steam), on Origin it is approximately 4GB, on PlayStation 4 it is 2.4GB (depending on your SKU) and on Xbox One it is 5GB.
