The badge, gun, radio, handcuffs and flash drive belonging to a Secret Service agent were stolen near the Secret Service’s headquarters in Washington, according to multiple reports.

The agent works in the Secret Service’s Presidential Protective Division which guards the president and his family, according to a CNN source.
The agent had left the items in a bag inside the parked vehicle around 4pm on Monday, according to a police report filed with the Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident, reported first by CNN, took place Monday around 4 p.m. ET near the agency’s headquarters in Washington.
The report said that agent, whose name was not listed in the document, then noticed “a bag with the listed property was taken out of the vehicle”.
A witness told police he saw someone reach into the vehicle, but didn’t see him take anything out.
The Secret Service is not issuing a statement about the incident, but the agent will likely be disciplined for not properly securing a government-issued weapon.
The report described the Secret Service as an “agency in crisis” as it has tried to recover from the prostitution scandal and from numerous security breaches at the White House. Law enforcement officials said the USB drive is encrypted and password-protected, but did not clarify what material is on the drive.
It’s not known what was contained on the stolen flash drive.

Recent breaches at the White House have also renewed criticism of the Secret Service.
