Secret Service, photographer, scuffle at rally

A Secret Service agent slammed down Time magazine photographer Christopher Morris at a Donald Trump rally Monday in Radford, Virginia, after the journalist tried to cover a protest.

Morris was uninjured and he said he will not press charges against the security agent. “We are not aware of all the details surrounding the incident and all future inquiries should be directed to local law enforcement”. Some reports indicated the guard may have been an agent of the U.S. Secret Service, which provides some security for the presidential candidates.

Footage posted on Twitter showed the moment the agent grappled with Times photographer Chris Morris in Virginia.

Morris was reportedly trying to leave the pen photographers were assigned to take pictures of people in the audience when he was forcefully stopped. “It was at his rally where you have this huge animosity for members of the media”.

An extended clip of the incident, posted by Independent Journal reporter Joe Perticono shows Morris get up after the incident, gesture to his own neck before grabbing the agent by the throat.

At the same rally, in Radford, Va., dozens of protesters were paraded from the event, some chanting “Black Lives Matter”, as Trump supporters showered them with boos.

Before the incident, dozens of protesters interrupted Trump’s rally, many of them linking arms and bringing the Republican presidential front-runner’s stump speech temporarily to a halt. “You’re moving back to the United States”. Trump tweeted Monday afternoon.
